Zalando’s newly formed Inspiration and Entertainment venture is seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Product Design to focus on the creator and algorithmic tooling. This role sits in the Content Experiences team, which is responsible for building remarkable consumer-facing features and marketable experiences to support Zalando’s vision of being the go-to destination for quality fashion & lifestyle shopping and inspiration. This role operates in a collaborative environment with Product Management and Engineering teams, as well as other stakeholders across the business, with the aim of prioritising business impact across multiple high visibility projects.


As the Head of Product Design with a focus on creator and algorithmic tooling you will work with an interdisciplinary leadership team focused on creating coherent strategies to tackle topics across the Content Experiences domain as well as other cross-functional teams.

Challenges that you will help to solve:

Define and design the creator and talent experience – from joining the platform to collaborating with partners to monetize and connect their audience.

Enable creators and talents to have customers truly experience their lifestyle on the platform.

Explore, discover and define the entire content tooling experience, creating impactful strategies starting from defining Go-to-market plans, setting goals and influencing how those are realised through content sourcing and possible visibility impact.

Explore, discover and define how algorithmic tools, such as product candidate generation and generative ai for asset creation can be leveraged in both internal expert and external creator assistance.

Collaborate closely with the design team focussing on the customer-facing content experiences together defining optimal end-to-end experience, such as improving the discovery experience and strengthening the adoption of total lifestyle offering through promoted contents from Zalando propositions or partners.


You have extensive design experience: You are a very seasoned design professional. You have likely led/co-led larger interdisciplinary teams before, solving complex and large-scale challenges and you are inspired to dive deep again to solve truly meaningful problems that make our users feel like we understand them.

Algorithmic tooling expertise: You have experience working with platforms and tools centred around algorithmic tooling at scale to drive business impact.

Drive customer centricity & Empathy: You put yourself in the shoes of the customer and are able to articulate their needs. You have the mindset and methodologies to understand your customers, colleagues and employees from diverse backgrounds.

UX & Service Design Experience: You understand UX and service design, choreograph product development processes and orchestrate unified experiences across channels and throughout the customer journey — while knowing how to embody specific solutions in usable and delightful interactions.

Experimentation: You have a generative approach, strive to solve problems in the best way possible through iteration, and are willing to kill your darlings.

Storytelling: You are a strong communicator, an expert at articulating and defining customer experience across multiple diverse stakeholder groups across the organisation. Your expertise helps draw out a vision of success whilst engaging stakeholder groups at all levels in the business.
