The Three Horizons Workshop

 Environmental Designers

Ornamo office, Annankatu 16 b 35-36, 00120 Helsinki

Welcome to the Three Horizons Workshop for Environmental Designers on Monday, June 9th, from 5 PM to 7 PM!

This event is only for Ornamo Members and it is multilingual.

Welcome to test the Three Horizons method in practice at a workshop facilitated by Designers for Environment! The Three Horizons is a futures research method for envisioning futures and solutions that enable sustainable transitions. In this workshop, you will learn the basics of the method and use it to outline the sustainability transition of your own industry. You will also get to reflect on your own role and exchange ideas with other designers.

This workshop is for you if:

  • You want to better understand your own opportunities to influence the sustainability transition of your industry
  • You hope to gain new insights into the role of designers in the societal shift towards low carbon, circular economy, and nature positivity
  • You are interested in foresight and imagining desired futures

The workshop is part of the Ornamo Responsibility Circle community program and is open to all Ornamo members. The materials are in English, and the workshop language will be English or Finnish depending on the participants.

The workshop will be held at Ornamo’s office at Annankatu 16, Helsinki. Please note that there is no possibility for remote participation this time. The attendance is limited to the first 18 registrants. We will send instructions and an information package to the participants in advance.

The workshop will be facilitated by Environmental Designers Emma Berg (City of Helsinki), Linda Vanni (Metsähallitus), and Riikka Manninen (Senate Properties). Environmental Designers (Ympäristömuotoilijat) is a peer network for service designers to advance sustainability by means of design in the public sector.
