Sini Majuri
Glass Artist
Sini Majuri is a glass artist specializing in robotics and artificial intelligence. Her works have been featured on the front page of The New York Times and exhibited in over 90 international exhibitions, including in Tokyo, New Mexico, and Venice. Majuri has received numerous international design awards, and her sculptures are part of prestigious collections.
She is interested in multidisciplinary and collective collaborations that take glass to new stages—like dancing ballet with Boston Dynamics robots or walking down the New York Fashion Week runway in the world’s tallest glass shoes.
Working in Suomenlinna, Majuri views glass as a poetic material capable of depicting the intangible phenomena of existence and the layered nature of humanity. Dreamlike qualities and femininity are recurring themes in her works. Majuri is particularly fascinated by blending the glassmaking skills, listed by UNESCO as an intangible world heritage in 2023, with modern technology and rare craft traditions.
