Billie Jean
Bathroom lights
Summer 2009
DNA+ Water & Wind competition entry
Billie Jean is a collection of tiles meant for illuminating the bath environment. As the name suggests, it draws inspiration from Michael Jacksons music video where the singer dances on a sidewalk that lights up as he advances.
Billie Jean consists of two different white glass tiles that bear the relief of an incandescent light bulb. The bulb is a symbol for artificial light but its days as the omnipresent illuminator of spaces are numbered while more advanced and more efficient methods of lighting are becoming the norm. The old-fashioned form hides a more contemporary alternative behind its shiny surface: the compact fluorescent lamp.
Flemmard
Shelving system
Autumn 2011
Flemmard is a playful shelving system that brings a colourful splash of irregular order into the room. Flemmard is of an interlocking construction and not all of its squares need to be attached to the wall. When only the strategic few are fastened, the rest will be supported by the shape. Flemmard was an entry in the competition Aluminiumdesign 2011, organized by Svenskt Aluminium.

Idleply
Luminaires
Spring 2012
Idleply was created as my MA thesis work for Aalto University. It is a concept design for future applications of OLED (organic LED) technology. The prototypes themselves do not feature actual OLED lamps but are made using electroluminescent panels.
The concept attempts to make most of the strongpoints of OLEDs. OLEDs are energy-efficient and flat and they provide a smooth surface light that requires no reflectors or diffusors. OLEDs can also be flexible, transparent and dimmable.
Aranea
Track Bicycle
Autumn 2012
Aranea is an exercise in complex 3D-modeling and visualization. It is a track racing bicycle with a unique frame. This bike is not made of tubes, but rods, and the frame is constructed with the minimum amount of material. In the fashion of traditional pursuit frames, the geometry is aggressive and forwards-leaning.

Pinecone
Flexible Newspaper Reader
January 2011
Pinecone is a flexible newspaper reader that makes use of a novel material. E-book readers have already been around for a while, but they're not well suited for reading large newspapers. Because of its flexible e-paper display, Pinecone can be folded in different ways just like an actual newspaper.
In this project, I worked for a start-up company in designing and visualizing their concept for a new technological device.
