We are now looking for a

CONTENT DESIGN LEAD

to lead the substance, work and people in the area of content design: Content Designers, Senior Content Designers and Lead Content Designers. In this role, you will support content designers in their roles . Your job is to ensure that your people have what they need to accomplish their job and succeed: training, mentoring, guiding, good work-life balance and frequent contact with you.

As an experienced professional in content design and digital content, the Content Design Lead will be the key contact to Product Managers, Design Lead and other roles supporting our digital development. You have a strong understanding of agile methods, working with digital development teams and developers. You ensure our products’ user interfaces follow the guidelines and principles of content design and represent our tonality and brand.

The Content Design Lead participates actively in the planning and execution of our content strategies, SEO strategy and content management system development. Your job also include s hands-on content designing and UX writing, terminology management and localisation management.

This position is located in Finnair HQ near Helsinki Airport or in Tartu, Estonia . The Content Design Lead works in the digital content management core team and reports to the Head of Content .

In this role, you will:

  • Lead the entity of content design and its development at Finnair
  • Act as a supervisor for Content Designers, Senior Content Designers and Lead Content Designers in two countries, aligned with Finnair’s Leadership Principles and Finnair Manager’s duties
  • Acts as a supervisor for external consultants in Content Design
  • Reach towards the targets of Brand and Customer Experience
  • Design unit and Customer unit
  • Prioritise requests, plan allocation and communicate with
  • stakeholders across departments related to content design
  • Participate actively in Digital Content Team management in total
  • Train and mentor people on content design
  • Design user-friendly, engaging, and strategic content and concepts with UX designers, developers, and other roles
  • Represent content design in digital channels’ development and prioritisation, and in various other forums, together with Lead Content Designers
  • Collaborate with various leaders in UX design, development, product management, customer experience, brand, digital sales and analytics
  • Budget and handle the purchase orders for consultants in Content Design, together with Head of Content

Our expectations :

  • 6-8 years’ experience in content design and UX copywriting across various digital touchpoints
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in digital touchpoints, comms, marketing on content
  • Experience in working with digital services development, digital marketing or e-commerce
  • Strong experience in working with content management and content design systems
  • Knowledge of search engine optimisation (SEO) and using web analytics tools
  • Experience in people leadership and supervisory
  • Excellent self-leadership skills
  • Excellent writing and verbal skills in English, Finnish is a plus
  • Master’s Degree or equivalent from a relevant field (e.g., UX, design, marketing, communications, linguistics or journalism)
  • Interest in adapting the iconic Finnair brand to the global markets with millions of monthly encounters
  • Experience in AI in content design is seen as an advantage
