As a designer my vision of art and design consist of multifunctionality, sociality and sculptural expression of form. Multifunctionality appears in my work by finding more than one function from a product. Inviting the user in a play, to find functions that serve specifically their needs, and to have respect for the material used to manufacture the product. Sociality aspect of my work concerns people using products together or individually. Products are tools for enjoying the times people spend together. Conversation pieces bring like-minded people together. Sculptural expression of form brings experientiality to ordinary, or extraordinary, moments of life.
I represent a fusion of art and function. Art is a part of everyday life, where “the good” set of dishes is not saved for only the special occasions. Every day is special occasion, so art is not isolated from life, but made to be a part of it.

The stem of the Blom Glass Coupe is round and bulky, so that it feels comforting against the palm of the hand or between the fingers. Short and sturdy figure of the Glass Coupe knows less knocked down glasses in the hustle and bustle of the party. Blom collection Glass Coupe is especially designed for champagne but is also great tool for serving short cocktails or small dishes.

Blom Ceramic Coupe with the short appearance and shallow opening of the bowl, enables serving sparkling wine, short cocktails and small dishes. Ceramic Coupe works also as a storing place for small treasures like jewellery. Blom collection Ceramic Coupe works also as a candle holder when turned upside down.

Blom Ceramic Goblet with its large bowl and narrowing opening is great for serving aromatic drinks, such as coffee, wine or long cocktails. Besides the drinking properties, Ceramic Goblet holds beautifully a small flower arrangement or a herb pot, and works as a storing place for small objects, such as for phone charger. Blom collection Ceramic Goblet works also as a candle holder when turned upside down.

Tasting Study observes properties of a ceramic product in the context of serving food and drink. In this examination three molding clays and four different finishings are under observation. The Tasting Study follows the structure of a wine tasting, but the attention is on the properties of the drinking tool: material, colour and texture. How does these properties of a drinking tool effect on the experience of drinking from it? As a result, deeper knowledge was created on how the properties of a ceramic product can complement the function of the product.
