Tuula Ala-Härkönen

My background is Master of Arts in Industrial Design but mostly worked as UI/UX designer. I have long experience of product design projects, from industrial operating / monitoring systems, public sector services and applications to embedded graphical user interfaces and game design.

For example I designed 12 years interfaces for Ponsse forest machines. My work included embedded touchscreen UX/UI:s for machine drivers, responsive web/mobile fleet management system for forest machine contractors and driving simulator applications for educational use.
I have also done embedded GUI designs for Polar Electro heart rate monitor, Tunturi sport exercise bike and Nokia Mobile Phones.
Nearly 20 years I occasionally designed product graphics and screen games for Raha-automaattiyhdistys slot machines.
Web/mobile service designs for public sector I could highlight Merimieseläkekassa services for all Finnish seamen and shipping companies, Kuntaliitto service for communal youth workers and AKK Motorsport application for all Finnish motorsports clubs and their members.

For me is meaningful to design products, which are helping people in their work or are related to some hardware product and to create a genuine visual UI style that really fits the user group and the company brand.
Beside UX/UI design and visual design systems I do data visualizations, graphic design and illustrations.
My hobbies since childhood are drawing and aquarelle painting.
